Spiced Stewed Apples

When Autumn hits the Northern Hemisphere, the body begins its own personal transition from Summer heat into the cooler days of Winter. This easy, warming breakfast helps support the digestive system, warm the body and nourish our soul with Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Cloves. It is easy to digest and delicious!

Ingredients:

1 Apple

1/2 cup Oats
1 1/2 cup unsweetened milk (almond, coconut, organic whole milk, oat or hemp)
1/4 cup Raisins
1/4 tsp Ground Cloves
1/4 tsp Cinnamon
1/4 tsp Ground Nutmeg
1 tbsp Ghee
1 tbsp Maple Syrup


Directions:

Chop apple into bitesized pieces.

Add milk and oats to a small saucepan. Cook on medium for 5-10 minutes. Add apples about 5 minutes in.


Add spices, raisins and simmer on low heat with lid on for 15 minutes. Turn off heat and add Ghee.

Drizzle with Maple syrup. Add Flaxseeds or Pumpkin seeds on top.


Transfer to bowl and enjoy!
